WCSC Picture Day 2014

Dear WCSC Families –

Please read carefully and be patient – we’re trying something new this year!

While we all cherish a great photo memory of our soccer players and their teammates, “picture day” can be a scheduling challenge for families, teams and coaches. Working with our friends and long-time supporters at Lifetouch, this year we’re going high-tech to make it more convenient for everyone.

GU15 Storm Premier team in top form this summer!

The Storm girls had a strong showing in tournaments this summer as they were Champions of the Davis Legacy Showcase for Girls (Championship Storm Davisbracket,) finished 2nd in the Pleasanton College Showcase (Super 3 group), and took 3rd place in the Magic Cup for Girls.  Overall, the Storm team lost only 3 of 16 games this summer going 9 wins, 4 ties and 3 losses.  The girls play an aggressive attacking style of possession soccer, and against top competition from Cal-North, Cal-South and Utah, scored 25 goals in their 16 matches.
The team is now preparing for Fall league play at the highest level, participating in the National Premier League.  Go Storm!!

GU10 Chelsea - CASA Adidas Cup Champions!

This class I tournament will be remembered for both its scorching hot weather as well as its high level of competition.  At the end of the weekend, one team emerged as U10 Girls champions – Walnut Creek Chelsea 04!!!  ChelseaThanks to its impenetrable defense and stellar goalkeeping, team Chelsea did not allow a single goal throughout the tournament.  And to match the intensity of the defense, the offense produced some spectacular performances, which included scoring eight goals in a single game.  But the most intense game was the championship game against an equally skilled host team, CASA BOCA 04.  Neither team scored during regulation so a thrilling PK session ensued, which Chelsea won 4-3.  Congratulations Team Chelsea!

BU14 Legends - Finalists at the Ballistic United Summer Classic

The Legends are off to a solid start to their U14 year with a strong showing at the Ballistic UnitedLegends Summer Classic. Solid work from new additions Dylan Barrett and Brayden Tomizaki helped the boys win their group with clean sheets, and only fell to the host team in the second golden goal overtime period of the final. With Paul Curtis' coaching and fantastic mentoring from the U18 Diablos, the Legends are developing a solid foundation for Fall league play and their first split season.

Coaches and Parent Code of Content

CoacingWe have an outstanding program here in WCSC and we tend to be the model of behavior on our sidelines vs. many other soccer clubs.  But we in the Walnut Creek Soccer Club feel it is important to keep our standards high and make sure everyone understands and knows what is expected of them when they represent WCSC.
